Modesto, CA (November 2, 2017) – The winners of the 13th International Annual Davey Awards have been announced by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (AIVA), and Final Cut Media has been awarded with a Silver Award for its work documenting the ‘Worth Your Fight’ campaign. The Davey Awards honors the finest small creative agencies, firms, and companies worldwide in the Online Film and Video Category.
The Worth Your Fight campaign is a joint effort of the Modesto and Turlock Irrigation Districts, aimed at raising awareness of water-related issues in California’s Central Valley. A portion of TID and MID’s marketing strategy included producing innovative digital content, highlighting the severe impact water regulations would have on the region. We told the story of the Marchy family, who owns a small dairy farm in Ceres, California.
In the 6-minute video, we sat at their family breakfast table and learned how the family farm could be in danger of closure if water regulations were put in place. The video was seen by over 100,000 people on various social media channels.
“The Marchy family story is a great example of how storytelling through video can be used to both raise awareness of a cause, and help show the world how important our water and our farmers – both big and small – are to the life blood of our community” exclaimed Mike Daniel, executive producer of the project and co-owner of Final Cut Media. “We’re incredibly proud to have had the opportunity to tell this story, and appreciate partners like MID and TID who have the foresight to see how telling these stories helps not only spread awareness for the cause, but tell the story of our community – something we need to continue to do more of”.
